BETTER, TOGETHER WITH KINGSLEY HOLGATE

Updated: Aug 30, 2023

In support of the Kingsley Holgate Foundation’s Centres of Hope initiative, Tenthouse Structures headed to rural, northern Kwazulu Natal to install 4 shade sails at Tembe Rainbow Creche, bordering on the Tembe Elephant Park.

This school is one of 20 creches supported by the Kingsley Holgate Foundation and has recently received maintenance and upgrades to their infrastructure as well as donations of educational resources, toys and equipment, a new food garden and beautiful murals on the external walls.

Tembe Rainbow Creche was identified as needing additional shade and protection from the sun and this is where Tenthouse Structures got involved. The school now proudly boasts a new shaded structure where the children can play and learn in a more comfortable environment.

The Tembe community depends on the tourism industry that the Tembe Elephant Park, a world-renowned attraction owned and managed by the Tembe people, brings to the area. The park is the main economic contributor and employer in the region, making it a remarkable success story for community conservation efforts.

The partnership between the Kingsley Holgate Foundation and Tenthouse Structures is a great example of how organizations can work together to make a positive impact on the communities bordering wildlife reserves.
