This year was a meaningful milestone for us as we officially registered and launched the MADE BETTER TOGETHER FOUNDATION, cementing our dedication to sustainability and giving back. This step allows us to deepen our impact in supporting communities and protecting the environment, and we are grateful for the opportunities that lie ahead.
As 2024 draws to a close, we look back with gratitude. This year has been a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collaboration. From creating safe, shaded spaces for children to expanding environmental education, our efforts reflect a shared commitment to uplifting communities and nurturing a sustainable future.
EXPANDING SHADE SAIL SPACES: COMFORT FOR GROWING MINDS
Access to shaded, safe spaces is essential for children to learn and play. This year, we donated three Shade Sail Spaces to schools and early learning centers, offering children much-needed comfort:
Tshembhekani Creche, Mpumalanga: Partnering with the Timbavati Foundation, we contributed shade sails and fittings while their team installed the structures.
Gratitude Pre-Primary and Khanyisa Creche, Western Cape: Collaborating with the Do More Foundation and Rainbow Chicken, our staff volunteered to install shade sails. The teamwork on these projects demonstrated how partnerships can transform outdoor spaces for children to thrive.
WILD HEARTS ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION: INSPIRING YOUNG STEWARDS
The WILD HEARTS Environmental Education Program saw remarkable growth, reaching over 3,000 learners across South Africa—an incredible leap from just 118 in 2023. This program is at the heart of our commitment to fostering environmental awareness among the next generation.
Curriculum Growth: WILD HEARTS now offers 30 core lessons and 45 free supplementary activities. These resources are accessible online to ensure widespread impact.
Empowering Educators: In partnership with eight organizations, we trained over 150 educators, environmental officers, and YES for Youth stewards, equipping them to inspire creativity and care for the environment in their classrooms and communities.
GIVING BACK THROUGH VOLUNTEERING
When heavy rains devastated parts of the Western Cape, our team rallied to collect food supplies for affected communities.
Later in the year, we supported MASICORP’s Dignity Project by donating sanitary towels to ensure young women could continue their education uninterrupted.
These small acts of compassion remind us of the importance of standing together during challenging times.
