It is more important than ever for our children to foster a love for the environment. Positive interactions with nature teach children about their place in the world and how they can protect it throughout their lifetimes. Today’s pre-schoolers are tomorrow’s custodians of the natural world and it’s up to us to give them the necessary knowledge and tools to become environmental champions.

As part of Tenthouse Structures continued commitment to protecting the natural world, we are proud to present our preschool environmental awareness program, WILD HEARTS. Our program facilitates exciting experiences where children can build on their natural interest, explore their curiosity, and learn to consider the environment in everything they do.

The topics of the WILD HEARTS program have been purpose built around carefully selected international environmental awareness days. Mother Nature is at the core of the curricula and creative, fun-filled lessons and activities have been developed around wildlife and the natural world.

The program consists of preschool specific teaching and learning content, printable resources and pictures, song cards and labels. Every lesson also includes an age-appropriate art activity, exploring numerous art techniques and varied materials while developing fine motor control. There is also a printable African animal themed letter freeze (a – z) which compliments the lesson topics and would look fantastic on the classroom wall.

To maximise the WILD HEARTS program’s benefit and in the best interest of the children, the program includes optional teacher training, program monitoring and evaluation, and educator support.

Tenthouse is devoted to empowering conservation through collaboration and long-term upskilling of teachers and children through education. Would you like to get involved in the WILD HEARTS initiative? Contact us at to help make a difference in education and conservation.
