TEXTILE ARCHITECTURE TO FRAME THE OKAVANGO EXPERIENCE
One of the most incredible tented safari experiences in Africa
2022 Conde Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards
THE MOMBO AND LITTLE MOMBO TEXTILE ARCHITECTURE SOLUTION
SITE LOCATION: Okavango Delta, Botswana
SCOPE OF WORK
Turnkey Textile Architects & Engineers
Tenthouse Structures design-engineered, supplied, and installed forty-eight independent tensile roof structures covering three main precincts, twelve accommodation units, and one family villa. In addition, demo units were built by the team to ensure precise engineering, positioning, and seamless installation on-site.
The successful rebuild of Mombo and Little Mombo was the culmination of a year of intensive planning, and technical engineering, followed by another of complex manufacturing and intensive project management. The world-class tensile roof solution championed the aesthetic vision of the client, met the technically challenging performance requirements of the delta site, resulting in a low-impact design, in harmony with the surrounding environment.
"An important message of thanks for your effort on the Mombo rebuild. Our team has been extremely complimentary of your efforts and for the support on this monster project. The workmanship looks great. This is greatly appreciated by all of us at Wilderness."
