WILD HEARTS ACTIVITIES
Welcome to the complete WILD HEARTS lesson library - a collection of 45 themed environmental education lessons designed to inspire young children to love, explore and care for nature.
Developed for Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Foundation Phase learners, each lesson has been carefully created around International Environmental Awareness Days, giving children a meaningful connection between classroom learning and real-world conservation.
Together, the lessons take children on an exciting journey through South Africa's incredible natural world, exploring everything from forests, deserts and oceans to elephants, rhinos, insects, birds, recycling, climate action and biodiversity.
Every lesson encourages active participation through stories, songs, movement, games, creative activities and hands-on learning, making environmental education fun, memorable and age-appropriate.
The programme aligns with South Africa's National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and CAPS Foundation Phase curriculum, making it easy for educators to integrate the lessons into everyday teaching.
Free for Schools and Educators
The WILD HEARTS programme is completely free to use. There are no membership or subscription fees, and schools, ECD centres, teachers and community organisations are welcome to download and use the original lesson resources in their educational settings.
Teachers Training and Support
Schools and organisations seeking additional guidance are welcome to participate in WILD HEARTS teacher training. Our training sessions help educators confidently deliver the lessons through practical demonstrations, teaching tips and hands-on environmental education techniques.

The Wild Hearts Program is Free to Use
There is no membership fee to join or use the WILD HEARTS programme.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to connect with nature, which is why the programme is freely available to schools, teachers, ECD centres and community organisations.
Creative Commons Licence: All WILD HEARTS resources are protected under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This means you are welcome to: Download and use the resources in your classroom or organisation. Print and share them with learners. Distribute the original resources to other teachers, provided you credit Made Better Together Foundation.
The licence also means that you may not: Sell or use the resources for commercial purposes. Edit, adapt or create altered versions of the lessons or resources. Remove the Made Better Together Foundation copyright or branding. This licence helps us keep WILD HEARTS free and consistent while ensuring the programme's quality and integrity are preserved for every child who experiences it.
